Mannequin Snap: Quite a few!

Oh dear, I've just realised I've fallen behind on keeping this blog posted on my mannequin snaps!

Here's an update of all my previous ones in one shot, as well as the latest one:

Mannequin Snap: Office Classic Lolita?
Mannequin Snap: Office Classic Lolita?

Received my dresses from Lady Sloth and immediately wanted to wear them to the office! I apologize for the flat-ish skirt, but the dress really doesn’t take well to having multiple petticoats. This is rather fussier than what I'd normally wear to the office - actually, I usually just pop on a plain cardigan over the dress. It's so comfy that I wear it to office once a week now!

Parasol: BtSSB

I felt inspired during a closet-cleaning session! Though this bolero + JSK coordinate is not my original coordinate, adding this JetJ skirt to lengthen the JSK is an idea that has been floating around my head since I received the skirt. This is the first time I'm actually putting all the pieces together, and I'm very pleased with the overall outcome!

I was changing outfits on my mannequin and decided to toss this dress onto Manny and start a hime-esque outfit. Incomplete coordinate, but I really love how the bolero looks with the JSK.

Er sorry for the very rumpled appearance! I found the JSK lying crumpled in a heap underneath a pile of dresses XD;

I spent some time removing the lace from this skirt and thought I'd put it on my mannequin for a bit! This outfit feels like something I'd wear to the office, just with some additional poof to the skirt.

(Actually, I did wear this skirt to the office with no petticoat and a plain dusty pink cardigan and it was an instant hit!)

Just received these shoes from Bodyline and wanted to pair them with this JSK! The cutsew-blouse looks kinda weird with a JSK... Guess it'll just have to be paired with skirts only.

Hairbow, Necklace, Cutsew-blouse: offbrand

And now for the latest one!

Mannequin Snap: Muguet in Country Lolita
Mannequin Snap: Country Muguet

I was having some trouble coordinating this OP, because the "white" parts actually have a greyish tinge that's pretty hard to match. But then I put this bonnet on the mannequin while I was rearranging the wig it was on, and I just couldn't get the idea of a country lolita outfit with this OP and bonnet!

Mannequin Snap: Cream & Navy

Finally got my dream mannequin with movable arms! So I just had to throw on a quick coordinate for it :D

Mannequin Snap: Cream & Navy

The coordinate isn't quite complete just yet - I haven't received my navy bonnet and mary jane heels, and those ought to finish the outfit! I love how the outfit is turning out though - the bag and the bolero match so well!

(Eh JL, if you're reading this - this is the bolero that I said I can't wear because it makes my bust look a little to incredible ^^;)

I also have to give the accessories more thought - I'm abit out of touch with coordinating rings and bracelets for these outfits, as I tend to keep my accessories very simple.

Mannequin Snap: Cream & Navy

The necklace and ring were chosen on a really random theme - the JSK is Philharmonie Angel, which always remind me of orchestras and opera houses, which in turn reminds me of Phantom of the Opera. The chandelier is a salute to the falling-chandelier moment in the book, musical and movie. The ring was chosen because the lion's face reminds me of gargoyles, which also remind me of old churches and opera houses.

I wish I could do more justice to this dress! Need to take the time to come up with a better coordinate....

I also need to toss a few more petticoats onto this mannequin... One petticoat just isn't enough poof tbh ^^;

Er, don't mind the packet of papers under the stand! It kind of tilts a little XD;

Double Mannequin Snap! Bordeaux & Blue

I was changing the outfits on both my mannequins today and accidentally ended up with a pair that reminds me of older-sister-younger-sister themed outfits!

Double Mannequin Snap! Bordeaux & Blue

I actually just wanted to come up with coordinates for some stuff I'm thinking of selling, and the end effect was rather cute together. I wish the blue outfit was in pink, so it'd look even more big-sister-little-sister-pair, but as it is, the two outfits together kind of remind me of Margaret and Alice.

Outfit Snap: Lolita Meet-Up! Mori-Classic-Country Lolita Outfit

I finally had a chance to go to another lolita meet-up today!

I really wanted to wear a print, but for some reason my new scarf and blouse just kept floating about in my mind, and all other outfits I put together seemed to look awful during my outfit test-run. So I wore something plain-ish instead :D

Lolita Meet-Up! Mori-Classic-Country Lolita

The idea was to match the outfit to the scarf, and I just happened to have bought a new lacy green blouse that matched the leaves really well. Innocent World's Eleonore JSK also looked really good with the blouse, and the dark brown ribbon on the dress was to highlight the dark colours on the shawl. Since some of the birds have pink on them, I decided to accessorize with a hint of pink too.

I spent most of my time wrapped up in the shawl like the photo above, but here's a photo of the details under the shawl:

Lolita Meet-Up! Mori-Classic-Country Lolita

I had a facial earlier in the morning, so I packed all my things into this cute luggage that matches the outfit and theme! I think it looks really cute together!

The meet-up was really fun! JL couldn't make it in the end, but I got to see Aiko and Iris again :D I also met many new friends, and I can't wait to go out with them again in lolita! There weren't many of us in classic lolita (at the time when I left, there were four of us, out of a total of 16-17 girls!) but everyone looked gorgeous anyway ^_^

I did end up leaving one of the earliest (we had only played one game at that time!) but at least we managed to get group shots ^^;;; I forgot my camera at home and my phone's camera doesn't work half the time, so I'm afraid I don't have any photos... Will definitely have to pull a few from Facebook later! XD

Alright, heading out for dinner. Thanks for reading!

Outfit Snap: Comic Fiesta 2012 - Non-Lolita Coordinate & New Wig!

Went to Comic Fiesta 2012! Was only in the hall for like 30mins hahaha. Too crowded, too hot, too noisy! ^^;;; Now I remember the reason why I usually go on the 2nd day instead of the first!

But I still got dressed up anyway haha. Here's a photo!

Comic Fiesta 2012 - My Outfit

I'm very happy with this outfit - it has four of my lolita dream items (dress, bolero, bag, shoes) in it, and it still makes a pretty great casual piece! The bolero, bag and shoes are piecs that my classic wardrobe never felt somewhat complete without, and the dress is very special to me as it is the dress that pulled me back into the lolita world and encouraged me to start buying dresses after admiring the fashion from afar after 8 years.

The wig is also a new purchase that I'm very excited about! I used to have short hair like this when I was in high school, and though I've been wanting to sport a short hairstyle for a while now, I'm still rather reluctant to actually cut my nice waist-length hair. The best solution? Wigs!

Of course, I first had to hunt down a wig in a style that I actually like. Just so happens that this one Gabalnara wig matched what I wanted, so I bought my first "branded" wig.

As someone who usually buys wigs from random TaoBao cosplay shops and other wig stores around town, let me tell you that there's a reason why these "branded" wigs are so much more expensive.

For one thing, though many people claim very thick wigs are the best, I find that I generally prefer a more natural thickness that ends up looking pretty full over your own hair, yet not unnaturally bushy like some thick wigs can look. Also, the fibers are much softer and silkier, and very easy to style and comb.

But the best part is just how comfortable the wig is! In fact, it was so comfortable after I put it on that I completely forgot to secure the wig with additional hairpins! And guess what - the wig actually stayed on my head on its own for 10hours, without needing any adjustments at all the whole time! Even better was that I didn't get any headaches from the wig, which some TaoBao brand wigs tend to do.

I think I'm never going back to wearing those TaoBao wigs again... Time for another round of closet cleaning ^^;; I think I need more of these Gabalnara wigs haha! Maybe I can finally get a decent blond one there?

Goodnight, peeps!

Outfit Snap: Lolita for Distant Worlds 2012 Kuala Lumpur

Trirose and I had an amazingly fun weekend! We had tickets for the Distant Worlds 2012 Kuala Lumpur concert on Saturday night, so we planned a girl's weekend at my house!

I had a facial on Saturday morning and had to finish up buying Christmas presents for the extended family, so Trirose only came over at 3.30pm. We were originally planning to wear kimono, but after dithering about, we decided to wear lolita instead ^^;;

Because we were chattering like magpies about anything and everything, we finally finished getting ready by 5.50pm! We took some quick outfit snaps before leaving the house and heading towards KLCC for a very lovely dinner at Harrod's and the concert.

Here is Trirose's outfit snap!

Distant Worlds Concert Kuala Lumpur 2012

Trirose is wearing AP's Memorial Cake! And BtssB's Usakumya bag, which is so adorable and so cuddly *___* This photo is sans shoes, because the proper shoes for her outfit was in her car hahaha.

This outfit was actually chosen as a back-up to her kimono outfit - she'd painted her nails this awesome teal colour to match her BtssB yukata, so her back-up lolita outfit was also pink and blue hahaha. It matches really well! I love pink and blue together ^__^

Here is another shot she took in the Dewan Filharmonik washroom, including shoes:

Distant Worlds Concert Kuala Lumpur 2012

Here's a sneak shot of the orchestra she took as well, hee!

Distant Worlds Concert Kuala Lumpur 2012

The concert was all sorts of awesome!! They played most of my favourite songs that they didn't play in London!! I was so excited! Liberi Fatali, Man with the Machine Gun, To Zanarkand, Suteki Da Ne... The only one missing was Fisherman's Horizon! But I was really pleased to hear the Maria and Draco Opera again, as well as FFIV's Theme of Love ^_^

The orchestra itself - I feel so proud of Malaysia! It wasn't as perfect as the London concert, but I say the MPO did a damn good job! Well done, guys! I'm looking forward to attending more concerts by the MPO again :)

Eh, *coughs* went on a bit of a rant there. But it was awesome!! Though I'm also wondering how much of my excitement was also from having had a glass of really good port right before the concert hahaha.

Anyway, back to the outfit snaps - here's mine!

Distant Worlds Concert Kuala Lumpur 2012

As always, I decided to go for a more Classic Lolita look. It was kind of a spur-of-the-moment decision - Trirose has the same Dim Light JSK, and we've been brainstorming (sort of XD;) for outfit ideas when it occurred to me that the roses have quite alot of pink on them, so dusty pink should match the JSK pretty well. I brought out these pieces so we could see them - and next thing you know, the outfit was on me hahahaha.

I love this blouse - it's an Innocent World dusty pink chiffon blouse that I got in last year's Halloween LP and it's gorgeous <3 It looks good with almost everything!

I paired the outfit with my bordeaux LK Bennett Mary Janes because they were the only shoes that matched other than a pair of tea parties, and I was very determined to wear heels and make the outfit look more grown-up-lolita. Er, that's why I put my hair in an updo as well hahaha. It's difficult to see in the mirror, but my hair has a pink rose and the two green bows in Meta's Dim Light series (the haircombs).

The handbag was an exact colour match to the waist tie! What a coincidence! We were both very excited when I found the bag in my mum's closet hahaha.

The neckline felt a bit too simple and plain after I took off the brooch that came with the JSK, so I plonked on a plain necklace and matching earrings and ring. I think the minimal accessories helped with making the outfit more grown-up looking!

Outfit Breakdown:
JSK, Hair combs: Metamorphose's Dim Light
Blouse: Innocent World
Shoes: LK Bennett
Bag: Prada
Jewellery: Chanel
Rose Corsage: Surface Spell
Tights: Aldo? Not sure ^^;

By the time we got home and chattered more and went to bed, it was nearly 3am so I'm pretty knackered hahaha. Will blog a bit more about Sunday later.

Toodles!

Lolita Meet-up @ TWG Pavilion

Had a meet-up with a couple of friends on Saturday! The theme was OTT and I was supposed to wear OTT Gothic, but my tummy has been very tender since I fell sick. When I tried on the bonnet and corset that morning, I nearly threw up, so I had to come up with a last-minute emergency coordination.

Luckily, I’d just received this JSK (Innocent World's Antique Rose Tiered JSK) a couple of days ago and was already playing around with a coordinate for it!

Innocent World Antique Rose Tiered JSK in Gray

We met up at Tokyo Street, Pavilion before heading downstairs for lunch at TWG Teas. We were absolutely baffled by the tea menu - so many choices! I already knew my favourite blend (Grand Wedding, which is Earl Grey with additional fruitiness and a hint of floral) but poor Iris and JL had a tough time deciding on a tea!

We finally asked for recommendations from one of the waiters, but I'm afraid we forgot to take notes of which teas we ordered ^^;;; I distinctly remember Iris ordering Charlemagne tea, which had the most amazing aroma, but JL's first pot of tea has slipped my mind ^^;;

While waiting for the food, we browsed through some of my Sakizou artbooks and chatted for a bit. The food arrived surprisingly fast!

Here's the spread:

Yum! And here's some of us having lunch:

Haha don't mind the derpy face! I'd just taken a bite of egg!

In case you're wondering about the food - JL and I were having their brunch set menu, which included a pot of tea, a glass of juice, a main course, a bread dish, and a dessert.

I had the Gourmet menu: scrambled eggs with truffle oil and prawn salad, with toasted brioche, orange juice, and a strawberry tart.

JL had the Summer menu: a vegetable quiche with salad, scones, apple juice and I think a praline.

Iris had a plate of beef stew, but we all shared our desserts and JL shared her scones so everyone had more than enough to eat!

After polishing off our delicious meal, we started exchanging showpieces that JL and I brought! I had promised to show her Grazia Crown and Charles Crown, and she had very kindly helped me buy Stained Glass Rose and a heart bag from Baby when she was in Japan a few weeks ago.

Of course, all this was accompanied by lots of chatter about random things from brand lucky packs to odd dreams we've had before XD;

After finishing our second pots of tea (Bain de Rose for JL, and Midsummer Night for me. Yes, I did order it solely for its name and its similarity to Shakespeare
s works and the AatP print! XD;), we decided to vacate the table to allow other patrons of the cafe to enjoy their food.

We stopped by Shu Uemura for JL to pick up something, then spent some time at a nearby department store just browsing stuff and looking for loli-able items. We managed to get one of the department store staff to take a group photo of us!

Lolita Meet-up @ TWG Pavilion

Of course, right after snapping photos, they were all asking their turn to take photos with us! ^^;;

Actually, we did get quite alot of photo requests that day... There was a bunch of moms who were very keen on taking photos of us with their young kids (toddlers, really!), and a couple of groups of tourists who were so enthusiastic I had a hard time saying no to them. Sorry, Iris and JL, for always saying yes, but it's so hard to say no when they have that sparkle in their eyes and seem genuinely happy to see us all dolled up!

Lots of people asked where we were from - they were always very surprised to find out we are locals! They seemed to think that we were tourists too ^^;;;

Of course, there was the obligatory laughter, but people like that generally aren't worth paying much attention to :)

(On a side note, my colleagues couldn't believe the girl in the photos was me ^^; They said it didn't look like me at all! Then again, I never make an effort to look nice for the office, so maybe that's why hahaha)

Now! Outfit snaps!

Lolita Meet-up @ TWG Pavilion

Iris is wearing Bodyline's teddy bear print! It looks so good on her! She was really really cute, and I think she made her own jewellery :) I'm also really loving the wig - very thick and quite natural-looking! By the way, her favourite theme is teddy bears :) She was really a hit with the kids!

Lolita Meet-up @ TWG Pavilion

I'm pretty sure we actually managed to get a solo photo of JL somewhere, but maybe I'm remembering wrong XD;;; Anyway! JL and I had been discussing outfits before the day of the meet-up and though I had to disappoint her by not wearing my intended outfit, she did wear her planned outfit!

Isn't it gorgeous? *__* I adore that JSK, and when paired with that bonnet, it just blows my mind! I really love her added red roses in the bonnet - they look so good together, and brings more cohesiveness between her headpiece and the rest of her outfit!

Lolita Meet-up @ TWG Pavilion

And now for mine:

The grays of my outfit don't really match, but at that point in time, I actually didn't care so much haha. I just wanted to wear a comfortable pair of shoes, and I wanted to use this particular bag and dress together (both my mum and I thought they were a great colour match, especially when you include the bracelet I wore), and they were all in shades of gray, so they got thrown together haha.

I really wanted to wear the Elizabeth bolero with this JSK, but my sister told me this one (Millefeuille Lace) looked better, so I went with this one instead. Besides, the sleeves on the Elizabeth bolero were a little uncomfortable anyway ^_^”” Luckily, my friends were very understanding about my not wearing fully OTT!

On a side note, I was very surprised to find out that this JSK actually has no zipper, but the back is fully shirred, so it was very easy to get into the dress. Looking back at the photos, I think I didn't have enough poof for the skirt ^^;; Oh well, I'll need to remember that this petticoat needs a companion to keep my skirt fluffy!

I styled my own hair that day (woke up extra early to do it too!), but by the time this photo was taken it was mostly all over the place hahaha.

My make up was giving me lots of problems because my eyes were really watery that morning and my eyeliner and mascara kept smearing D: I had to re-do my make up a few times and it took me over an hour to make it passable! I was also trying out a new colour for my eyeshadow (gray and silver) to match the JSK, but I'm not sure if I like the colour directly on my skin!

Jewellery were chosen at random because pearls always look nice in classic loli hahaha.

Saturday was really fun! ^___^ Been far too long since we’ve had a loli meet-up, and it was really nice to meet someone new too!

Thanks, girls, for the lovely day out and for cheering me up when I was sick! Let's meet up again soon! :D

(Yikes, just realized how long-winded I was in this post! Hahahaha)

Lucky Pack: Metamorphose 10th Anniversary

When I saw that Meta had some LPs up for their 10th anniversary that featured print skirts, I just had to get a couple!

They arrived really fast - I'd ordered them on Thursday, 9th August and received them Thursday, 16th August!

Each LP featured a fully shirred skirt, a print eco tote, a blouse and a pair of bloomers.

Here's what I received:

I just happened to receive two of the skirts that were featured in the stock photos haha! I'll admit I wasn't over the moon about them when they first arrived, but they're really cute and super comfy so I'll definitely be keeping them for a while :) I might sell the blouses though - they're a bit frilly for my liking and I have way too many brand blouses in white and ivory.

The bloomers are, as always, really comfy! My brand bloomers collection is definitely expanding thanks to Meta haha :D

I just realised I still haven't posted about my IW Oddments LP yet.... Well, that ought to come soon, I hope! XD;

Mannequin Snap: Viennese Waltz with Pink

I was getting a little bored with the other outfit on display, so I thought I'd change it.

I've been wearing Viennese Waltz in non-loli coordinates and I thought I ought to do proper justice to it this time. Here is the result!

Mannequin Snap: Viennese Waltz with Pink

This coordinate actually looks better in real life than in the photos XD;;; Somehow it looks really flat and messy and boring in the photo!

I tried to create something of a country-lolita-entering-autumn look, so I paired it with a slightly warmer-looking cutsew and OTK socks, but kept with the parasol and straw hat for the country lolita detail.

I really like it, but I need to find a better pair of shoes for it.

Mannequin Snap: Casual Blue Perfume

I've been dreaming of this coordinate since I got this skirt! Sure, it's with a different pair of shoes and a different bag from what I'd originally intended, but I think it still looks pretty good :)

I had planned to use a pair of Secret Shop navy blue shoes, but the order didn't go through, so I'm stuck without a proper pair of shoes for this outfit :/ So I tossed in a pair of pink ones instead to match the pinks in the skirt and socks!

I finally found the necklace that came with one of my previous Meta LPs! I'm using here with the super cute cutsew I'd received in another Meta LP ^_^

Lucky Pack: BTSSB Schoolgirl JSK LP 2012

Okay! Finally got around to typing out this post, albeit on my phone haha.

I've actually been wanting to buy something from Baby the Stars Shine Bright (BTSSB) for a long time. One of my good Loli friends has shown me alot of her pieces, and they're really nice!

Of course, there's also the fact that Btssb has a (really really small) special sort of place in my heart because it was the first brand store I'd ever been into! I visited the one in Paris :) I've also been to the one in San Francisco, and am aiming to visit one in Japan within the next 2 years! Cost isn't so much the issue, more finding time that fits my schedule :/ I'll probably book a weekend trip for myself and take a Friday off sometime this October XD (Then again my 2H2012 work schedule was just out today, and it looks like it may pretty much be impossible to book a holiday for the rest of the year *sigh*)

Anyway! This Lucky Pack came at exactly the right time as I was looking to expand my plaids wardrobe. When looking at the possible colour ways for this set (which, by the way, is the Schoolgirl JSK set), I was immediately drawn to the blue colour way, and just had to place an order!

When it finally arrived, I opened the parcel and saw....

Baby the Stars Shine Bright 2012 Winter Lucky Pack

YES! Blue colourway, exactly what I wanted! Sooooo happy!!! I found it a little odd that there's no zipper on this dress, but the back is fully shirred, so it's very stretchy and does fit :)

Matching headbow:

The socks and bag that came with the set:

The bag is really cute! Absolutely tiny, and not very practical, but still cute. The set also came with an usakumya phone charm, which I've kept in my jewellery corner for good luck with my wardrobe XD;

I haven't worn this at all yet... I'd like to wear it soon - that might actually be a really good idea, given that weather's been pretty rainy and cold recently ^_^

The next LP post will be the Innocent World Oddments LP, because I've already taken pics of the LP's contents (and have been procrastinating on the IW New Year Set ahahaha XD;;;

Lucky Pack: Metamorphose 2012 Winter LP

I was supposed to write about my Innocent World 2012 Oddments Lucky Pack B, but I thought I'd better get my earlier LPs out of the way first ^^;;

This post is about my Metamorphose 2012 Winter LP! Bit of a funny story about this LP - the announcement went up on the day I was flying to Cambridge for Christmas, and was set to be open for orders while I was in the air. I was really worried I'd miss this LP, so the moment I arrived at my brother's flat, the first thing I did was place an order hahaha!

When the LP finally arrived a few weeks later - I was surprised to see that they'd sent only one LP instead of the two I'd ordered! So I sent them an email with a scan of the letter that came with the LP (it stated there was only one LP in it) and proof that I'd paid for two. Luckily, there were no issues at all, and they shipped the second LP to me free of charge! ^_^ Yay!

Here's what I got!

First LP:

I was excited to see the black & silver duffel bag - means I got something in black!
Metamorphose 2012 Winter Lucky Pack

When I opened the bag, the first thing I saw was - YESSSSS gray plaid JSK! XD XD XD
Metamorphose 2012 Winter Lucky Pack

Aside from the bows already attached to the JSKs in the above photo, these extra bows were also included.
Metamorphose 2012 Winter Lucky Pack

This blouse... fits really oddly on me -___-"" It's perfect at the bust, really loose at the waist, and super tight around the arms ^^;;; I'm going to see if moving the buttons around the armholes would make it fit better - otherwise, I'll just sell the blouse.
Metamorphose 2012 Winter Lucky Pack

The obligatory bloomers! Love these bloomers - so comfy!
Metamorphose 2012 Winter Lucky Pack

There was a necklace included in the LP, but I've kind of lost track of it ^^;;; It's definitely somewhere in my jewellery cupboard, but it's just a matter of untangling everything and determining which tiny pendant is Meta's hahaha.

The LP also came with two pairs of OTK socks! With the first LP, I got the two black ones on the left. The two off-white/cream ones on the right are from the second LP.
Metamorphose 2012 Winter Lucky Pack

I got the other LP-only bag with my 2nd LP! It's the brown and gold version.
Metamorphose 2012 Winter Lucky Pack

I saw someone on EGL get this awesome brown plaid JSK - and was shrieking with delight when I opened my bag and saw it in there!!!
Metamorphose 2012 Winter Lucky Pack

The matching extra bows that came with the JSK.
Metamorphose 2012 Winter Lucky Pack

I was also very happy with the blouse! I've been looking to buy a wine red or bordeaux long-sleeved blouse for quite a while, so this was perfect! I was a little weirded out be the raschel lace, but I think it actually looks fine since it's in a dark colour. Now, if I'd received this blouse in white, then I might have had an issue with it! As it is, the lace on this blouse is actually surprisingly soft.
Metamorphose 2012 Winter Lucky Pack

Again, the obligatory bloomers <3 I'm growing a really nice collection of brand bloomers through these LPs!
Metamorphose 2012 Winter Lucky Pack

This headbow came with the second LP and is super cute, but I'm having trouble figuring out the best hairstyle to wear with this! I really like the idea of putting my hair up into panda buns with this headbow, but it might look a little young for my style ^^;
Metamorphose 2012 Winter Lucky Pack

Aaaaaaand that's it! Up next should be my BTSSB Schoolgirl JSK LP XD; And after that, I will write my super-long post on my IW 2012 Oddments LP! 8D
