Mannequin Snap: Warm Spring Outfit - Take 2

I was staring at my brand accessories-that-came-with-some-stuff pile and had a sudden epiphany on how to adjust my Warm Spring outfit a little more!

Mannequin Snap: Warm Spring Take 2

I added a brown neck-ribbon to the blouse to give the outfit a bit more cohesiveness. With some brown on the blouse, it now doesn't look too much like two plain pieces thrown together (though it is, in fact, the truth hahaha) and more focus is brought to the neckline area, which I had thought too plain before.

I also added a pair of socks, simply because the colours matched the outfit perfectly XD;

One of the corsages in the previous outfit wasn't quite the right shade of brown for this outfit, so I took it out and replaced it with two other corsages that match this outfit better.

What do you think? I really like how this outfit turned out after the new changes!

(Oh, I changed the photo area for this outfit to right in front of my closet. My sister had pointed out to me that part of the reason why the previous outfit looked a little bland was because it was right in front of my wall, which is a more striking shade of green, which kind of washed out the rest of the outfit.)

I wish there were more brown in the outfit, or that the brown was a lighter, softer shade. The bag and shoes were darker than I remembered, so I tried to pull in the browns using a pair of brown brooches pinned to the dress and a brown cameo ring. Sadly, they were just about the only brown accessories that I could find in my room haha! I have a parasol in creams and browns that would've matched perfectly... if I could find it ^^;

I chose a flower headdress with a couple of beige brooches pinned to it because, well, I love round headdresses ^^; I also added the cameo ring, cameo brooch and necklace to try to give the outfit a more classic feel.

I'm not sure how to classify this outfit. I kind of call it sweet-classic, but somehow it also feels like it has a little of old-school elements thrown in.

I think that if I were to wear this dress + blouse out, I'd probably trade the knee-high socks for lacy cream tights, and change the shoes and bag to a more classic-looking cream set of bag, shoes & parasol. I'd also take away the brown brooches and replace the headdress with my cream half-bonnet.

On my new dress: I was quite surprised to find that it looks so much cuter in person than it does in the shop photos - and it looks cute enough on the website as it is! Now that it's on the mannequin, I can see that there are one too many bows on the dress for my liking, and the corset lacing in front is a little too much for my tastes, so I might end up removing the ribbon and snipping off a few of the bows along the hem :)

Wine Red & Cream Summer Lolita Mannequin Display

I had some free time on my hands today, so I decided to dress up my mannequin again!

Wine Red & Cream Summer Lolita Outfit

This time, she's wearing a bordeaux/wine red blouse from Dear Celine and a cream/beige & bordeaux skirt from Bodyline. I figured that since it was a short-sleeved shirt, I ought to make it look more summery looking than the colour scheme, which is admittedly a tad dark for this season. Maybe something to wear in late August/early September?

I've accessorized it with a random hat I got in Ho Chi Minh, and some flowers to tie in the colours. The outfit is matched with red shoes to tie in the red somewhere else other than the blouse, and I tossed in a parasol to give the outfit a lighter feel.

I wanted to add pearls somewhere, but the neckline is busy enough with the blouse's necktie things, and it was a little hard to put the bracelet somewhere noticeable.

No bag because I couldn't decide on one. I will most likely add a bag once I change the hat - this one doesn't feel particularly loli to me, so I'll have to whip up a white ribbon for my boater hat and pair it with my white-ish basket bag.

Blouse: Dear Celine
Skirt: Bodyline
Hat: ... Made in Vietnam?
Roses: Surface Spell, I think.
Shoes: Bodyline
