EGL Mannequin Display

I always dress my mannequin in sweet or classic styles of lolita, and thought it was about time I went for something different.

Here she is in something a little more gothic.

Photobucket

(Please don't mind the poor picture quality! I had to use my phone's camera because my mum's travelling and needed the camera as well)

I wanted a more gothic style, so I put her in a black skirt and cream high-neck blouse. I added a bustier on top of it to create a cleaner, more EGL-like silhouette. The skirt itself has embroidered roses and crosses on it, and I reflected that in my necklace, which has (duh) roses and crosses.

To add a slightly more gothic feel, I topped it off with a round headpiece with roses and a veil. It's kind of a poor quality headpiece, but I had a severe lack of options when it comes to headpieces with veils... My original thought was to use my black bonnet, but it looks really ugly when perched on the mannequin.... If I ever wear this outfit out, I'll definitely pair it with the bonnet, though!

I used my bat bag from Bodyline to continue with the gothic-inspired trend and a pair of all-black shoes for the colour scheme. The parasol I put there is cream because I don't have a black parasol... Shame about that. I haven't decided on what leggings, but they'll most probably be lacy black. Otherwise, they'll be lacy cream :)

I'm kind of proud of this outfit ^^; I've always liked EGL and this is only my 2nd time trying anything with a gothic element to it. It seems to be a little more old-school than I originally intended, but that's okay - I like old school lolita XD

Considering a new layout...

My kimono blog has recently gone through alot of layout changes and updates, and I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out looking. I think my lolita blog is feeling kind of unloved at the moment (it's still on one of those default Blogger layouts!) so I'm thinking of changing it to something else that looks more cute and less "I can't be bothered".

So over the next few weeks, I'll most likely be changing some things about this blog ^_^

On a separate note, I bought one of the Innocent World Lucky Packs... Can't wait to see what I get!! :) July can't come any sooner haha.

Wine Red & Cream Summer Lolita Mannequin Display

I had some free time on my hands today, so I decided to dress up my mannequin again!

Wine Red & Cream Summer Lolita Outfit

This time, she's wearing a bordeaux/wine red blouse from Dear Celine and a cream/beige & bordeaux skirt from Bodyline. I figured that since it was a short-sleeved shirt, I ought to make it look more summery looking than the colour scheme, which is admittedly a tad dark for this season. Maybe something to wear in late August/early September?

I've accessorized it with a random hat I got in Ho Chi Minh, and some flowers to tie in the colours. The outfit is matched with red shoes to tie in the red somewhere else other than the blouse, and I tossed in a parasol to give the outfit a lighter feel.

I wanted to add pearls somewhere, but the neckline is busy enough with the blouse's necktie things, and it was a little hard to put the bracelet somewhere noticeable.

No bag because I couldn't decide on one. I will most likely add a bag once I change the hat - this one doesn't feel particularly loli to me, so I'll have to whip up a white ribbon for my boater hat and pair it with my white-ish basket bag.

Blouse: Dear Celine
Skirt: Bodyline
Hat: ... Made in Vietnam?
Roses: Surface Spell, I think.
Shoes: Bodyline
Parasol: Btssb
